Dave has been a tutor and course leader in the music department at RACC since 2000 up until recently Dave was lead tutor for RJS but now while still active in RJS he places his focus on teaching and performing. He has also been involved in teaching various youth jazz orchestras. Dave was also a faculty member for the Jamie Aebersold International Jazz Summer School and continues to work in a number of HE institutions as bass teacher and external examiner.
Dave’s professional playing career spans theatre, TV, radio and performing internationally alongside many artists such as Juan Martin, Willard White, Jacqui Dankworth, BBC Big Band and Pete Cater Big Band. As leader and member of jazz collective ‘Way Out West’, he has recently led projects such as ‘Dave Jones’ Nonet’, ‘Latin Affinity’ featuring soloists such as Roberto Pla, Tim Whitehead, Tony Woods, Henry Lowther and performs regularly as bass player for the exciting ‘Ronnie Scott’s Jazz and Soul Orchestra’.
