STEFANIA ARCIERI MEETS STEVE FISHWICK & BRUNO HEINEN!

A wonderful reunion of jazz artists to live special moments of music, smiles, intense emotions, and good energy!

Singer and composer Stefania Arcieri returns to London to meet the formidable trumpeter Steve Fishwick and the extraordinary pianist Bruno Heinen and give life to a precious evening in which a musical program full of surprises will be presented!

Splendid jazz tunes, enchanting Brazilian songs, intriguing contemporary jazz atmospheres & originals will enrich the evening making it very dynamic, exciting and intense! They will pay homage to great heroes such as Wayne Shorter, Chick Corea, Horace Silver, Thelonious Monk, Fred Hersch, Kenny Wheeler, Antonio Carlos Jobim, A. Barroso, Cole Porter, and Ted Dameron. A couple of Italian gems will also be performed, as well as some originals from Stefania's latest album "Insistent" (2024, Dodicilune Records).

Stefania Arcieri is a singer and composer from Puglia (Italy). Particularly versatile, leader of many musical projects which are characterized by multiple stylistic colours, she loves singing contemporary jazz originals as well as jazz and Brazilian standards. After studying with some of the most significant exponents of the jazz scene, she moved to London driven by the desire to explore different musical realities. In England she had the opportunity to collaborate with numerous extraordinary jazz musicians from different parts of the world and so she decided to record her first album with an ensemble of English and non-English artists. The album “Views – Shapes & Hues of Some Impressions” (2016) presents Stefania as a singer and composer, includes originals and pieces by jazz heroes played with combinations of instruments, creating sophisticated mixes of sounds and timbres. In London she performed in many jazz venues and in Brazilian places and in the famous jazz clubs such as the Vortex, Ronnie Scott's, the Crypt.

Her 2nd album “Insistent”, produced by Dodicilune (2024), includes music written entirely by Stefania: 11 tracks of contemporary jazz, brazilian, jazz funk dynamic sounds.

London Jazz News says: “Arcieri herself uses her voice like an instrument, taking solos, improvising, alone and in combination with other players in the band, as well as singing the songs. Her singing style includes scat with some very acrobatic phrasing, as well as a softer, sometimes ethereal, more Brazilian style”

Steve Fishwick is widely considered to be one of the leading jazz trumpet UK/Europe, and is rapidly gaining a global reputation thanks to his flawless technique and his beautifully flowing, harmonically rich improvisations. He has performed all over Europe, numerous times in NYC (Smalls, Dizzy's , Smoke, The Iridium), and further afield in China and Peru. He has recorded many albums as a leader and sideman, some with leading legends of jazz such as Cedar Walton, Peter Washington, Hod O' Brien, and Anita O' Day. Steve is a committed jazz educator amidst his busy performing schedule, holding positions in 5 UK conservatoires.

Described by the Guardian as "eclectic, eccentric and unobtrusively erudite", pianist Dr. Bruno Heinen is equally at home supporting Lee Konitz or Roy Hargrove at the Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club as he is playing with the London Symphony Orchestra at the Barbican conducted by Sir Simon Rattle. Coming from three generations of classical musicians, Bruno Heinen started playing piano at the age of four. He started composing pieces early on, and was introduced to the world of jazz through the music of Bill Evans by his uncle (jazz pianist Johannes Heinen) in his late teens. His compositional voice has been informed by his love of composers from Duke Ellington to Béla Bártok and from Wayne Shorter to György Ligeti. Professor of jazz piano and composition at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music, Bruno has written for artists ranging from DJ Vadim to the Camerata Alma Viva string ensemble, with the Independent noting his "consistently intelligent linking voice’"
