Rahel Talts Quartet feat. Ant Law play music from the new album “Back and Forth”!
Estonian pianist and composer Rahel Talts brings her internationally touring quartet to London again. This time the quartet welcomes a special guest from the UK, the incredible guitarist Ant Law!
Together, they will take You on a beautiful musical journey featuring Rahel's original compositions from the band's latest album "Back and Forth", along with some new, unreleased music and some older hits as well.
Nordic and Baltic folk-influenced lovely melodies, energetic, groovy rhythms and juicy, traditional jazz-influenced harmonies will fill the walls of Jazz Cafe POSK!

Rahel Talts is a young emerging Estonian jazz pianist and composer, who in recent years has been musically very active in Denmark, Lithuania and Estonia as well as many other countries around Europe. Talts has her own international 14-member band called Rahel Talts Ensemble with whom they have released 2 well-received albums: "Power of Thought" (Feb 2022) and “New and Familiar” (Jan 2025). Another combo that she leads is her quartet with whom they have toured over Europe and Asia and released 2 albums as well - "Greener Grass" (2023) and the latest one being “Back and Forth” (2025) which features a guitar virtuoso Rob Luft from the UK.
The pianist has studied under and played with jazz legends like Seamus Blake, Lage Lund, Yaron Herman, Melissa Aldana, Theo Croker and Ziv Ravitz. In 2021, Rahel was selected to be one of the 15 young jazz musicians in the Elbphilharmonie Jazz Academy project in Hamburg. In 2023, Talts was chosen to represent Estonia in the legendary Euroradio Jazz Orchestra. In 2023, Rahel was also one of the finalists in the Helsinki Big Band Composing Contest.
Rahel Talts Quartet is a group that plays Estonian rising jazz pianist and composer Rahel Talts's original music. The musicians are all from different countries but met in Denmark years ago where they also studied. The quartet plays music which could best be described as energetic, acoustic, melodic jazz which has some influences from Baltic and Nordic folk, from traditional jazz and perhaps also from pop music. Rahel likes to use some simple, catchy, folk-influenced melodies, juicy harmonies and groovy beats in her music, mixing it up with some arrangements of Estonian folk songs as well in the program. Rahel Talts Quartet has played at many prestigious festivals like Jazz Baltica, Copenhagen Jazz Festival, Jazz à la Petite France, Nordischer Klang, Jazzkaar and many more.
Ant Law is a British guitarist and parliamentary jazz award nominee, who has been described by the Guardian as “a game changer” and “an innovator”. His 8th album “Ensconced”is a collaboration with Milan-born British/Turkish singer Brigitte Beraha and was released (on Ubuntu Music) 16th August 2024. Ant has performed extensively with Tim Garland’s band (with Jason Rebello and Asaf Sirkis), featuring on albums “Songs to the North Sky”, “Return to the Fire” &”ONE”which was shortlisted for a Grammy an won the Jazzwise Best Album award. Ant has also worked with the legends like Cory Henry, Thomas Gould, and been featured on numerous occasions in “Total Guitar", “Guitar Techniques" & “Guitarist” magazines.
