The Nigel Price Organ Trio, winner of the 2010 Parliamentary Jazz Awards for ‘best jazz ensemble’ is led by one of Britain’s finest guitarists.
Nigel Price is a regular performer at Ronnie Scott’s where he has racked up over 500 performances. He spent three years with the James Taylor Quartet and has performed with the BBC Big Band, Carleen Anderson and the legendary David Axelrod.
His blend of flowing, fiery bebop lines, deep blues feeling and his will to swing hard has made him a big hit with jazz audiences everywhere.
The alliance with Matt Home on drums and Ross Stanley on Hammond organ makes this is one of the most exciting jazz bands in the UK today.
Formed in 2002, this trio has worked hard, playing hundreds of venues both in the UK and abroad including ten residencies at Ronnie Scott’s jazz club in London and has undertaken five extensive UK tours.
The by-products of this amount of work are a cohesive chemistry rarely seen between three musicians, an enormous repertoire and the ability to put on a well-structured show that entertains from start to finish.
They will be joined by UK sax virtuoso Vasilis Xenopoulos, one of London's up top jazz saxophonists. Originally from Athens but now resident in London, he has worked with many of the best musicians in the British jazz scene, such as Jim Mullen, Steve Waterman, Alan Barnes, Derek Nash, Bruce Adams, Martin Shaw, Nigel Price, Ray Gelato and many others. On an international level, he has appeared with top performers such as sensational pianists Hiromi, and Jason Lindner.
