Since relocating to London in 2019, Elliot has formed his own quartet with some of the most exciting musicians around including Jonathan Chung, Calum Gourlay and Corrie Dick. He’s also already featured with his group at renowned venues and events such as The Vortex, The Crypt, Jazz Café POSK, and the EFG London Jazz Festival. In May 2023, he released his debut album ‘New Surroundings’ courtesy of AMP Music & Records. Besides being a burgeoning bandleader, Elliot is also a sought-after sideman on the London jazz scene. In 2024 Elliot embarked on an Arts Council funded six weeks stay in New York City where he studied with the likes of Mike Moreno, Ben Monder, Joe Martin, Colin Stranahan, Troy Roberts and Steve Cardenas.

He also recorded with internationally acclaimed musicians Chris Cheek, Desmond White and Colin Stranahan for his follow up release “Transatlantic”, which was released in late 2024.

Jonathan Chung, a saxophonist and composer from Glasgow, Scotland, has forged a unique path in the world of jazz. His musical journey began in the city's vibrant streets, where he immersed himself in a diverse collection of records. His sound is a captivating blend of Celtic sweetness and freewheeling narrative-driven improvisation. Influenced by the likes of Paul Motion, Robert Stillman, Acoustic Ladyland, the Beatles and Jimi Hendrix, he creates music that is both deeply ruminative and exhilarating. Since his 2012 move to study at London’s Royal Academy of Music, Chung's versatility extends to collaborations with a wide range of artists; Laura Jurd, Huw V Williams, Brodie Jarvie, Olivia Murphy Jazz Orchestra, Beth Orton, rock/metal group Green Lung and psychedelic punk group Marlon Bianco. In 2019, Chung was awarded with Serious' Take Five talent development program, joining the ranks of past winners like Shabbaka Hutchings, Sebastian Rochford and Nubya Garcia.

“Stunning soloing…a to-die-for tone; just awesome” - UK Vibe

“Saxophonist Jonathan Chung takes on the vocals, practically tearing open his instrument and bursting out of the song” - Musik Express

London-based double bassist and composer Calum Gourlay is known for his deep warm tone, controlled execution as both a supporter and improviser, and rock-solid time and pulse. Born in Glasgow, he began his musical journey playing the cello in primary school and by the age of 14 he started playing the double bass, having developed a serious interest in jazz and improvised music. Calum’s talents were noticed by many of Scotland’s premier artists and, as a result, he became the first bassist selected for the first Tommy Smith Youth Jazz Orchestra, as well as other ensembles. In 2004, Calum started at the Royal Academy of Music in London and graduated with first class honours with a B.Mus. (jazz) degree. Since then, Calum has become a mainstay on the London jazz scene while performing with the Kit Downes Trio, The Tommy Smith Group, Will Vinson, The Scottish National Jazz Orchestra featuring Joe Lovano and John Scofield. Calum also works with Kurt Elling, Martin Speake, Martin Kershaw and Sheila Jordan. He writes for his own big band which has a monthly residency at the Vortex in London.

“Gourlay’s note accuracy, unshakeable rhythmic sense and ability to follow a melodic line whenever possible make this a thoroughly enjoyable experience” - The Jazz Breakfast

“Gourlay filled the space with a combination of spinning bass beats and a virtuosic exploration of harmony” - The Arts Desk

Corrie Dick is the name of a UK-based musician specialising in euphoric, sonically conscious groove drumming. He is lauded for his touch, uniquely fresh approach to style and melodicism. He is an essential component of any project lead by Laura Jurd including Mercury Prize Shortlisted Dinosaur; provides the intricate and fluent stick work in the Elliot Galvin Trio; brings intense, free colours to Danish powerhouse bassist Jasper Høiby’s exciting Fellow Creatures; writes deep and spiritual music for Blue-Eyed Hawk; and provides the full spectrum of rhythmic elements for guitar wunderkind Rob Luft’s ensemble. He also leads his own joy-inducing supergroup, releasing his debut album with the ensemble in November 2015, selling out concerts across the UK ever since. The album displays Corrie’s striking abilities as composer/lyricist by skilfully fusing Celtic folk and contemporary jazz with new takes on African rhythms.
