We’re delighted to welcome back the trio of guitarist/vocalist Dave Peabody, violinist Regina Mudrich, and pianist Tim Penn who delighted Brooks Blues Bar audiences with their debut appearance last year.
Dave Peabody knows a thing or two about the blues, having played guitar and toured with a host of American bluesmen such as Mississippi Delta legend David ‘Honeyboy’ Edwards, Grammy award winning harmonica player Charlie Musselwhite, and Cincinnati boogie and blues pianist Big Joe Duskin. Dave has perfected his craft with over fifty years of live performances and appearances on over forty albums and CDs and has been voted UK Acoustic Blues Artist of the Year three times. He was in Germany last year, recording his latest album when, by chance, he met Regina who so impressed him with her musical skills that he invited her to play on the new album “Right Now Blues”, resulting in universal great reviews.
Regina Mudrich studied classical violin for 9 years at the University of Music “Franz Liszt” in Weimar, GDR. Born in East Germany, she currently lives in Bremen, West Germany. Between 2003 and 2008 Regina performed, and recorded 2 CDs, with the Rialto String Quartet (one which was recorded at the Berlin Philharmonic). Since 2008 she has been an event manager at Gewoelbe, Vegesack, Bremen, an intimate venue that attracts a variety of international artists, many of whom she has joined on stage. During the last year Regina has contributed her violin to two new albums, one by German guitarist Thomas Schleiken and the other by New Orleans based singer/songwriter Todd Day Wait.
Brooks Blues Bar regular, Tim Penn is one of the most ‘in demand’ keyboard players on the scene. Going back to the 1970s, he was a member of Dorris Henderson’s Eclection and also the Kevin Coyne band alongside Andy Summers (The Police) and Gordon Smith. He currently holds down the piano chair with the swing-blues band, The Cadillac Kings as well as his own band, The Second Line. His influences range from stride and barrelhouse piano styles of the 1920s, through to the great New Orleans piano players like Professor Longhair, Fats Domino, and Dr. John.
Don’t miss this rare opportunity to catch this international trio of great musician play their eclectic mix of blues, boogie, ragtime and jazz.
Dave Peabody został ogłoszony artystą roku przez British Blues Connections i Blues in Britain Magazine. Gitarzysta, wokalista i gawȩdziarz Dave Peabody zaczął wystȩpować w połowie lat 60-tych, kiedy to nastąpił szczytowy okres wielkiego brytyjskiego boom blusa.
Jego ostatni album „Right Now Blues” (wydany w marcu 2015) przedstawia 9 utworὀw solo i 5 utworὀw w duecie z Regina Mudrich, klasycznie wykształconą skrzypaczką pochodzącą z Niemiec Wschodnich.
Regina studiowała 9 lat w szkole muzycznej – University of Music „Franz Liszt” w Weimar a obecnie mieszka w Bremen.
Dave i Regina po raz pierwszy spotkali siȩ w październiku 2014 roku. Po odkryciu muzycznych umiejȩtności Reginy, Dave zaprosił ją do studia celem nagranie paru utworὀw. Mimo, że blues nie byl wcześniej w jej repertuarze, jej wrażliwość i natychmiastowe zrozumienie muzyki dodalo lekkości i swieżości starym blusowym utworom, ktὀre David postanowił nagrać.
