“Sunshowers”: an Homage to Jazz Icon Billie Holiday by Camille Rose!
This year marks the 110th birthday of the legendary Lady Day, and the Camille Rose Quintet is set to honour her legacy by performing selections from her vast discography. Attendees can look forward to beloved classics alongside some hidden gems from Billie's early days, all reinterpreted by these talented young jazz artists!
Additionally, the concert will showcase a live rendition of Camille’s forthcoming EP, “Sunshowers”, which offers a jazz fusion reinterpretation of three Billie Holiday tracks, set to release in the summer of 2025.
Recognized as a rising star by Jazz FM's Simon Phillips, jazz-soul singer Camille Rose is poised to make a significant impact on the UK jazz scene. Drawing inspiration from legends like Ella Fitzgerald and Amy Winehouse, Stevie Wonder and Cleo Sol, Camille's music intricately blends stories, styles, and traditions from the jazz diaspora. This fusion results in a sound that is both innovative and modern while deeply respecting the genre's rich heritage.
Having released two independent EPs, “Raining in July” and “Be Alright”, both of which garnered airplay on BBC London and Jazz FM, Camille made her debut at the EFG London Jazz Festival in 2024, performing to a sold-out audience at Pizza Express Dean Street.
Camille is currently working on her third EP “Sunshowers” - celebration of Billie Holiday out Summer 2025.
