Same Planet, Different Worlds…three uniquely different guitarists come together for an amazing night of classical & jazz.
Geoff Robb – Acoustic Guitar
Bob Cranham – Jazz Guitar
Andrew Scott – Classical Guitar
Geoff Robb is a solo guitarist and winner of the Brighton Fringe Live Music Award, 2018. His 2017 album, The Burren, won critical acclaim and tonight he will play tracks from his new album, The Music Of Trees - inspired by nature with tree stories and folklore fusing jazz, Spanish and Celtic styles.
Bob Cranham and Andrew Scott are both guitarists but…from different sides of the tracks! Bob is a true jazz guitarist with a flair for lyrical and spontaneous improvisation who can magically pull a melody out of nowhere and Andrew is a classical guitarist who will practice one piece for hours a day to draw every drop of emotion out of the composer`s manuscript. It`s a miracle that they came together to form a duo, but the results are amazing…
“The place was completely packed to hear someone who is rightly described as one of the top guitarists in the UK”. Peter Owen Jones, BBC
“Outstanding performance…refined technique…most satisfying musicianship” Classical Guitar Magazine

Bob has, for over 40 years, been a freelance, professional session guitarist working in all areas of the music business in the U.K. Europe, the U.S.A., the Middle East and Africa. After 4 years with the National Youth Jazz Orchestra (NYJO) Bob went on to work for most of the major record labels playing for a huge variety of artists. In the theatre he has worked with the Royal Shakespeare Company and the National Theatre as well as in many West End shows.
Bob has worked in broadcasting and has toured with an incredibly broad range of artists from top selling chart acts to minimalist classical composers. As a freelance record producer Bob has over fifty album projects to his name ranging in style from pop, rock, country, blues and soul through to classical, jazz and World Music. Bob is able to draw on his wealth of experience to help emerging artists to realise their full potential, both in the recording studio and in live performance through his Artist Development Programme.
Andrew Scott launched his second album at the Polish Jazz Café last year, Andrew Scott Plays Laurindo Almeida, which is a tribute to the Brazilian guitarist Laurindo Almeida. Andrew is a classically trained guitarist, he studied with Carlos Bonell, formed the Corcovado Jazz Trio and tonight he will be playing well known standards with Bob Cranham and some beautiful solos on classical guitar by the minimalist composer Gerard Cousins.
