Alberto L. Ferro Trio: The Jazz Journals – the trio will play Alberto’s original music from his upcoming album, and improvisations on modern jazz jazz repertoire!
Presenting his upcoming album release, Alberto L. Ferro and his trio will perform works from his original repertoire, merging modern jazz with classical-style inspired improvisation, along with sophisticated interpretations of standards from the jazz tradition.
Line up:
Alberto L. Ferro – piano
Jakub Cywiński - double bass
Neil Bullock – drums
Alberto L. Ferro – composer and pianist, classical and jazz music performer, specialised in improvisation. Current creative director at the London Contemporary School of Piano, Alberto holds a Piano Performance Degree from Milan Conservatory and a Master in Music from Washington State University, U.S.
As a composer Alberto has written and recorded three albums, “Introspections” (2025) “North of the River” (2020) “The Deep End of Sound” (2018), all for piano solo. His music draws lines between genres and techniques: there are clear references to classical forms, polyphony, counterpoint and thematic developments, but also deep dives into modern jazz, contemporary art music and rock/folk. The investigation involves a variety of creative approaches: note-by-note composition, thematic improvisation to un-planned improvisation (mostly live). His compositions reflect this mixture of strategies.
